eDiscovery Product Owner

Contract - 3 months - £550/d (inside IR35) - Sheffield (3 days per week onsite)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global financial services organisation undergoing a significant transformation of its compliance, legal and information governance capabilities. As eDiscovery Product Owner, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of enterprise eDiscovery, data retention, legal hold and compliance solutions across a complex international environment.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Technology and Information Security, you'll own the product vision, influence strategic decision-making and help deliver innovative solutions that meet evolving regulatory and business requirements. This is a highly visible role with genuine global impact, offering the chance to work with leading technologies including Microsoft Purview and enterprise archiving platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap for enterprise eDiscovery, Legal Hold, Data Retention and Data Deletion capabilities.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Technology and Information Security to gather, validate and prioritise business requirements.
  • Define solutions for regulatory investigations, case management, search, review and export processes.
  • Shape enterprise data retention and deletion strategies, ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations and legal hold requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of compliance boundaries, jurisdictional data controls and governance policies.
  • Work alongside architects and delivery teams to translate business requirements into functional and technical solutions.
  • Lead product adoption, change management and stakeholder engagement across global business functions.
  • Collaborate with strategic technology vendors to influence product roadmaps and adopt new platform capabilities.
  • Support the development of future operating models and continuous improvement initiatives across the product landscape.
  • Identify risks, communicate progress to senior leadership and ensure successful delivery of strategic transformation objectives.

  • Significant Product Owner or Product Management experience within a large, complex enterprise environment, ideally within Financial Services.
  • Strong knowledge of eDiscovery, Legal Hold, Data Retention, Data Deletion and Information Governance.
  • Experience working closely with Legal, Compliance, Technology and Information Security teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business leaders.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relating to enterprise data management.
  • Experience translating complex business requirements into product roadmaps and technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and product management practices.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance business value, risk and regulatory obligations.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft 365 Purview, Microsoft Purview eDiscovery, Veritas Enterprise Vault, Arctera or similar enterprise compliance technologies would be highly advantageous.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and documentation skills.
