Job Title: Editor

Salary: £26,600 - £32,600 per annum

Location: Cambridge, Hybrid

Contract: x1 Full time, Permanent and x1 Full time, Fixed term contract until January 2028

About The Role

Join our Team as an Editor, working on a diverse portfolio of publishing projects in both print and digital formats. Your mission? To deliver fresh volumes in our highly acclaimed Practice test and Adult learning series, as well as groundbreaking digital solutions tailored to our customers' evolving demands.

As an Editor, you will work on a variety of teaching and learning materials, collaborating with an experienced and global team to deliver exciting, innovative products which build on our trusted reputation as a quality University Publisher that helps millions of people worldwide unlock their potential.

Your responsibilities will extend to collaborating with freelance teams, where you'll champion copy and content editing, conduct digital checks, and uphold rigorous quality assurance and review processes. In this role, you'll take the reins of content development, ensuring the independent handling of various test materials, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget, all while aligning with the unique needs of our valued customers.

About You

You're an experienced ELT professional looking for a new challenge. What you bring to the team is:

  • A degree in a relevant field or proven comparable experience
  • Knowledge of ELT pedagogy theory and practice, including a CELTA / TESOL qualification or equivalent experience
  • Insights into the needs and challenges of English language learners and teachers today
  • Willingness to learn the publishing business (some prior experience desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Success in working in a highly collaborative team
  • A positive approach to general editorial administrative tasks and strong attention to detail
  • Confidence in using a variety of tools and systems in your day-to-day editorial and project management work

We would particularly like to hear from those who have:

  • Knowledge of learning and assessment methodologies (with particular experience of Cambridge English and IELTS qualifications)
  • Knowledge of adult and higher education English language learning contexts
