Since its founding on September 22, 2022, the magazine has published work from more than 700 authors across 60+ nations, fostering a truly global creative community. It serves as a welcoming space for emerging and established voices, offering opportunities through anthologies, contests, and collaborative projects. Role Description
The Editor role is a part-time, remote position focused on shaping and refining content for Blue Crystal Literary Magazine. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and selecting submissions, editing poetry and prose for clarity, style, and coherence, and providing constructive feedback to contributors while honoring each creator’s voice. The Editor will work closely with the editorial team to plan issues, maintain consistent quality and tone, and support the curation of themed features, anthologies, and special projects. Additional tasks may include writing brief introductions or notes, coordinating timelines and deadlines, and ensuring that all published content aligns with the magazine’s values of inclusivity, artistic integrity, and emotional resonance.

- Strong skills in literary editing, line editing, and copyediting for poetry and prose.
- Experience in content evaluation, manuscript review, and constructive editorial feedback.
- Excellent written communication skills and a strong command of grammar, style, and narrative voice.
- Familiarity with contemporary literature, diverse literary traditions, and emerging writers.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple pieces and deadlines, and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
- Prior experience with literary magazines, publishing, or creative writing workshops is preferred.
- Comfort using digital tools for project management, document sharing, and online communication.
- Background in English, Creative Writing, Literature, or related fields (formal education or equivalent experience) is beneficial.
