Editor: Coaching Perspectives
Context
Coaching Perspectives is the global magazine of the Association for Coaching. It is published quarterly both in digital and print format and reaches over 1200 readers worldwide. Since it was started in 2014 by Hetty Einzig, the magazine has established itself as a leading voice in the coaching profession.
We are seeking a new Co-Editor for this prestigious magazine. The current editorial team, Executive Editor Hetty Einzig, Co-Editors James Bridgeman and Clare Manning have established the magazine as one of the world’s premier coaching magazines. James Bridgeman is now stepping back so we are seeking another Editor to share the editorial role with Clare Manning, supported by Alexandra Curley as Production Coordinator, and Hetty Einzig as Executive Editor.
Role Summary
This voluntary role will be an ideal fit for someone with a love and extensive experience of working in editorial roles in journalism or publishing.
The role of Editor is voluntary with a monthly honorarium. It is estimated that the role of Editor will require approximately 30 hours per quarter. The team works collaboratively, supporting each other where needed, so responsibilities are often shared or negotiated.

The role involves:
- Determining on the themes of upcoming issues for the year in collaboration with the Editorial Team and in consultation with the Executive Editor and the Editorial Board (where appropriate);
- commissioning contributions – in collaboration with the Co-Editor
- Editing contributions – in collaboration with the Co-Editor
- Monitoring overall design and balance, including visuals
- Reviewing, sub-editing and proof-reading PDF versions of magazine prior to print
Role Requirements
We are seeking a person who:
- has experience of working in editorial roles in journalism, publishing or other contexts
- has expertise in editing and in shaping a publication as a whole
- is happy to work both on their own and as part of a team
- has a good understanding of the coaching profession
