Role Description
The Editor in Chief is a part-time, remote role. This role oversees all editorial activities, including planning, commissioning, and reviewing educational and guidance materials related to the Portfolio Pathway. The Editor in Chief will manage the editorial calendar, supervise contributors and reviewers, and ensure all content is accurate, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with the organization’s mission. Qualifications
- Demonstrated editorial leadership experience, including managing content pipelines, overseeing contributors, and setting editorial standards.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and accessible professional and educational content.
- Experience in academic, medical, or professional publishing, ideally with familiarity with UK medical regulation and specialist registration pathways.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities, including prioritizing multiple deadlines and maintaining an editorial calendar.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clinical experts.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality, including rigorous fact-checking and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
- Comfort with digital tools and platforms used for content creation, collaboration, and publication (e.g., word processing, editorial workflows, CMS).
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in medicine, healthcare, communications, journalism, or a related field; post-graduate training or clinical experience is an advantage.
- Understanding of non-profit or membership-based organizations, with a focus on education, mentorship, and professional development.
- Ability to work on-site in Merthyr Tydfil and participate actively in organizational meetings, events, and stakeholder engagement.
