About Howden Research
Howden Research is an independent, student-led research firm producing long- and short-form analysis across finance, economics and STEM.
As our research output grows, we are looking for an Editor to help maintain and develop the quality, consistency and clarity of our published work.
The Role
The Editor will work closely with Research Analysts to turn strong research into clear, rigorous and engaging publications.
This role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys writing, editing, research and intellectual argument.
You will be responsible for:
- Reviewing research submissions
- Checking clarity, structure and logical consistency
- Identifying unsupported or weak claims
- Checking sourcing and factual accuracy
- Providing constructive feedback to analysts
- Improving headlines, introductions and overall presentation
- Helping maintain consistent editorial standards
- Working with analysts to prepare research for publication
- Contributing to the development of Howden's editorial standards

Previous editorial, journalism, research or writing experience is advantageous but not essential.

Commitment
Approximately 2–3 hours per week, with flexibility depending on publication schedules.
This is an unpaid, part-time position.
