About the role

This role will be responsible for editing and refining content, ensuring a meticulous level of detail and accuracy. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the team, possessing strong administration and data processing skills to provide support with writing tasks.

This role will process, create and manage content and image files for use in the Barbour service, ensuring content currency and correctness. To identify and acquire new and linked third party document content. To develop a knowledge of information and content providers relevant to the Barbour offerings. Employment of the most effective processes to ensure the timely and comprehensive management of content. Processing content to an agreed standard. Interpret legislative changes and tag Barbour content to reflect these changes.

What you’ll be getting up to

  • To input Barbour content into the CMS, comprising a variety of content types, and format and process this content in accordance with established content standards and requirements.
  • To identify new and/or amended document content for inclusion, working with predefined publisher content and adhering to agreed schedules for content sourcing and updates.
  • To identify amended content and ensure the accurate tagging and classification of CMS records to maintain content integrity and searchability.
  • To monitor information and content sources using the most effective and efficient processes to ensure content remains current and relevant.
  • To develop and maintain knowledge of information sources relevant to Barbour service topic areas and support ongoing content acquisition activities.
  • To review existing document content and make amendments as required to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with quality standards.
  • To ensure watermarks are correctly applied to PDF images assigned to specific IP addresses and access permissions.
  • To interpret copyright statuses applied to content and ensure all content handling and publication activities remain compliant with copyright requirements.
  • To input data into the database and amend existing records as required, ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • To develop a strong understanding of Barbour content formatting standards, the bespoke CMS, and associated processes, contributing to continuous improvement where appropriate.

What we're looking for

Qualifications

  • Maths and English GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)

Experience

  • Previous experience in an administrative, data processing, content management, editorial support or similar information-based role.
  • Experience of inputting, maintaining and updating data accurately within databases, business systems or digital platforms.
  • Experience of reviewing and processing documents or content in line with defined procedures, standards and timescales.
  • Experience of working with large volumes of information while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience of identifying and applying updates, amendments or changes to records and documentation.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and managing workload effectively to meet service requirements.
  • Experience of using content management systems (CMS), document management systems or similar platforms would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working with digital content, metadata, tagging or document categorisation would be beneficial.

Role Details

  • Location: Remote based
  • Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday from 9am – 5:30pm
  • Reporting to: Editorial Team Leader
  • Notice Period: 1 Month
