What You'll Do

BCG is looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial Editorial Director to play a key role in shaping the strategy and leading the execution of the firm’s global campaign focusing on artificial intelligence, a priority topic that is top of mind for business leaders and the media.

The Editorial Director Will Have Three Primary Roles

  • Partner with BCG’s global campaign team to define and execute a cohesive, cross-channel AI content strategy, working closely with the campaign’s leadership and AI experts across the firm.
  • Conceive and manage the development of editorial features that tie to the campaign’s priorities and showcase BCG insights on subtopics, themes, and emerging areas of interest.
  • Take a portfolio view of AI content pipelines across the firm, ensuring alignment with the campaign’s content strategy and audience priorities (CEO, CXO, and practitioner).

Strong editorial and creative skills are essential. The Editorial Director will improve quality in formats ranging from articles and reports to videos and infographics, helping to ensure that BCG’s insights are market-leading and differentiated. They will work closely with topic experts—and will leverage their own expertise in GenAI tools—to storyline BCG data and research and provide developmental editing to ensure the content is compelling and differentiated. The Editorial Director will identify new opportunities for thought leadership and will initiate and drive content projects. For the campaign’s flagship reports, the Editorial Director will work with topic experts, the media team, the campaign team, and others in Marketing to shape questionnaires, analyze data, and extract a story that can attract both earned media and commercial interest. To seize the opportunity to be in the market with timely insights, the Editorial Director may serve as a writer.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Communication and teaming skills are critical. The Editorial Director will cultivate relationships within the campaign and across the business, acting as an adviser, influencer, and problem solver. This role demands a strategic communicator who excels at distilling complex concepts into clear messages that advance BCG’s global AI narrative. Working with the AI campaign’s Senior Director, the Editorial Director will shepherd a data-driven content strategy and ensure alignment for that strategy among senior stakeholders.

The Editorial Director will be the line manager for, and will team closely with, an Editor dedicated to the AI campaign. The Editor will provide editorial guidance and hands-on developmental editing across a range of content pieces for the campaign.

The Editorial Director’s impact will be evident on several fronts. Published content will reflect clear priorities and will be supported by well-defined channel strategies, resulting in stronger reach and engagement. Content development, in general, will benefit from greater collaboration across the business, the promotion of best practices, and the strategic use of metrics to drive improvements. The program of content, in general, will be recognized as market-leading and will resonate with business leaders and the media.

While closely aligned with the global campaign, the Editorial Director’s organizational home is the BCG Content Studio, which is part of BCG’s Marketing & Communications organization.

YOU’RE GOOD AT

  • Communicating clearly and effectively, with a focus on informing and influencing decisions that affect content strategy and development.
  • Actively shaping written and spoken material into sharp, compelling, and engaging content for senior business professionals and the media.
  • Crafting content strategy and individual content pieces by audience (CEOs, CXOs, practitioners) and by AI subtopic (agents, cybersecurity, physical AI, human impact, and so on).
  • Staying abreast of trends in AI and advanced technologies that can inform content ideas and strategy.
  • Finding differentiating angles on a fast-moving topic in a crowded content market.
  • Leveraging, and in some cases developing, GenAI tools to support the planning and development of both content and content strategies.
  • Line managing an Editor, who will provide editorial guidance and hands-on developmental editing across a range of content pieces.
  • Identifying content gaps across complex pipelines based on internal priorities and market research.
  • Making recommendations for new and innovative content across channels including social media (paid and organic), email, web, events, and media.
  • Developing and updating external messaging and talking points for BCG thought leaders.
  • Helping define KPIs for content across owned and earned channels.
  • Taking action to help move work forward and showing initiative in solving problems and overcoming challenges.
