Hi 👋 we’re Genio

We create beautifully simple learning tools that boost knowledge, skills, and confidence.

We’re a SaaS scale up and one of the fastest growing tech companies in the North.

There’s 80+ of us around the UK with our HQ in Leeds.

Our software is award-winning and used by 100,000s of students at over 800 universities & colleges worldwide.

We’re growing so we can achieve our mission to support 1 million students to become better learners by 2030.

🚀 About the role

We’re building a new Learning Media Unit at Genio: a small team responsible for turning what we’re learning about education, technology and learning differences into ideas and media that can reach far beyond our products. The Studio will create work for learners, educators and the wider industry across written, video, social and other formats. Some of that work will help large audiences directly; some will build Genio’s voice and authority around the ideas we believe matter.

As Editorial Lead, you will be the editorial backbone of the Studio and the CEO’s primary editorial partner on thought leadership. You’ll take ideas that often begin messy or half-formed and help turn them into clear, compelling work: from Substack essays and keynote narratives to video scripts, presentations and other formats.

This is first and foremost a writing and editorial role. You’ll need exceptional judgement about ideas, arguments, structure and language, while also thinking beyond the page: understanding how the same idea changes when it’s spoken, filmed, visualised or adapted for another medium. In our deliberately AI-assisted environment, you will also design and own the workflows that extend our output capacity and keep the production pipeline moving.

You will be responsible for:

  • Driving CEO Thought Leadership: Turn the CEO's thinking into excellent finished content across formats, including Substack essays, social posts, and video scripts.
  • Owning the Content Pipeline: Lead the Studio's content pipeline from concept to finished artifact, maintaining a forward schedule that keeps production ahead of publishing.
  • Writing Video & Learner Scripts, and Final Editorial Authority: Write and own the final scripts for all Studio video output, and act as the final copyeditor across all Studio written content, thought leadership, learner guides, and everything in between.
  • Designing AI-Assisted Workflows: Build and continuously refine structured, AI-assisted processes that maximize team output without compromising quality.
  • Managing Studio Operations: Coordinate the Studio's weekly operations (scheduling, meetings, and deadline accountability) to ensure consistent delivery without needing day-to-day operational management from the CEO.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

👥 Meet the team

You will be working most closely with our CEO, the Learner and Community Lead, and our Content and Community Executive to bring the Studio's vision to life. This is a team that pushes each other hard and enjoys it, if that sounds energising rather than exhausting, you'll fit right in.

This role reports directly into the CEO.

👤 About you:

Essential:

  • Exceptional Writing & Editing: A confident, distinctive writer who can craft everything from long-form essays to short-form social posts, adapting voice and complexity to fit the audience and format, not just repurposing the same piece.
  • Scriptwriting & Visual Storytelling: Able to structure ideas for video so they hold attention, explain complex concepts clearly and feel natural in spoken delivery. You think about what the audience should see as well as hear, and understand when a visual, demonstration or metaphor can communicate something better than words alone.
  • Media & Format Fluency: Genuinely immersed in how ideas and stories work across modern media, including social, video and creator-led formats. You understand how different formats and platforms shape attention and communication, enough to make strong editorial decisions about format, length and angle.
  • Strong Research & Narrative Instinct: Able to go deep on complex topics, understand who each piece is actually for, and find the compelling story in raw material.
  • AI Fluency: Actively using AI in your work today, with real opinions on where it helps, where it doesn't, and where the risks are.
  • Thrives at Pace: Comfortable setting direction without a playbook, and genuinely energised by a fast-moving team who'll challenge your thinking, including the CEO.
  • Operational & Zero-to-One Mindset: Organised, disciplined, and comfortable building editorial processes from scratch in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus / Nice to have:

  • Experience designing or owning AI-assisted editorial workflows, producing editorial work across multiple media formats, or collaborating closely with visual/creative specialists.

đź’° Salary and benefits:

  • ÂŁ55,000 - ÂŁ70,000 dependent upon experience
  • 33 days annual leave (Inclusive of bank holidays)
  • 3 gifted days off at Christmas
  • EMI Share Options Scheme
  • Generous individual learning and training allowance
  • Truly flexible hours to suit when you work best
  • Full home working set up and beautiful collaborative office space
  • Free Leeds City Centre office parking
  • Nomad working policy with family travel insurance
  • Enhanced 26 weeks maternity and 4 weeks paternity (fully paid)
  • Health cash plan (from glasses to massages)
  • 6% employer pension contribution
