Job Title - Editorial & Program Lead
EC-Council is the world's largest cybersecurity technical certification body. Operating in over 170 countries, we are the owner and developer of globally recognized cybersecurity certification programs. We have trained and certified more than 400,000 information security professionals worldwide, helping shape the global cybersecurity workforce.
Role Overview:
As the market becomes increasingly technical, our community needs to evolve with it. This is a newly created role responsible for leading and managing our UK content operation. This is an editorial and content leadership position, rather than a commercial role. You will define the editorial strategy and oversee a range of content initiatives, including online events, industry reports, interviews, and thought leadership. Your work will help strengthen our brand voice and build engagement within the London market and beyond. You will have significant ownership and autonomy from day one, with responsibility for setting the content strategy, making editorial decisions, and representing the brand externally. You will work closely with the Leaders, marketing, and design teams to deliver high-quality, impactful content.
Key Responsibilities:
Editorial Direction & Content Strategy
- Own the content strategy and editorial calendar, building and executing a six to twelve month plan.
- Set and evolve the editorial direction as we broaden from cyber into AI and emerging technology risk.
- Have the final say on content, working collaboratively and conversationally with the CEO.
Online Events
- Plan and run webinars, masterclasses and panel discussions with an educational focus, rather than a sponsorship-led one.
- Source speakers and panelists through your own network and ours, building lasting relationships along the way.
- Over time, explore regional and emerging-market formats (for example the UAE or Latin America), not only London and New York.
Exclusive Content & Thought Leadership
- Commission and produce exclusive interviews with industry leaders.
- Create special and technical reports, including regulation and continuing-education pieces, using qualitative interviews and, where useful, third-party-run surveys.
- Launch and edit an online magazine (quarterly or twice-yearly) with a broad “technology risk” remit spanning cyber, AI and emerging risks.
- Repurpose content across formats - write-ups, social carousels, podcasts - to maximise reach.
- Support the CEO's industry-leader podcast: shaping topics, preparing sessions and packaging the output.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
This is not a commercial or sales role, and it is not a news desk. We are not chasing breaking news, scoops or job moves - that ground is well covered elsewhere. “Exclusive content” here means original interviews, and reports and pieces that only the company will have. Commercial elements, such as any future sponsorship plans, sit outside this role, and day-to-day execution (social, email, design) is handled by our marketing team.
Essential
- A strong editorial, journalism or content background, ideally in or close to the insurance market.
- An existing network in the (London) insurance market and a good feel for its dynamics.
- A nose for emerging, underreported stories and trends that will bring brand visability.
- A self-starter: independent, organized and trustworthy, comfortable owning a plan and making it happen.
- Comfortable working with AI tools as part of day-to-day content work.
Desirable
- Familiarity with cyber insurance, or with cyber and technology risk more broadly - a real plus, given the niche.
- Experience producing multi-format content across events, reports, social and podcasts.
- Experience building relationships with vendors and partners.
