The Role
We have an interesting opportunity for an Education Administrator to join our team.
You will be based at our Newcastle-upon-Tyne campus that has fantastic transport links and state of the art facilities.
We are looking for someone with skills in:
- Communication – written, oral and able to demonstrate empathy
- IT – Microsoft packages
- Organisation and prioritisation
To provide administrative support to the School of Medicine administrative team with a focus on Interclation.

Key Accountabilities
- To provide high-quality administrative support to the postgraduate academic team, ensuring the smooth organisation and delivery of the Interventional Nephrology, Clinical Sciences and Clinical Echocardiography postgraduate programmes
- Assist the Degree Programme Directors and the Programme’s Module Leaders in the management of the programme by:
- Co-ordinating the assessment process for the programmes, uploading assessment papers and the management of marking and the administration of the mark moderation process
- Supervising and managing student study days, tutorials and surgeries
- Organising the production and publication of timetables
- Producing and uploading support materials in liaison with the programme team
- Managing the co-ordination of student feedback
- To co-ordinate and administer the application process for the programme, ensuring applications are processed according to university deadlines
- To co-ordinate the progression process for the programme according to university procedures and deadlines
- To organise student induction days
- To provide support to various programme committees, which includes co-ordinating agendas, updating action logs and taking minutes.
- To manage the payment of fees and expenses to tutors and the external examiner(s) ensuring that appropriate claims are made and the correct level of fees are charged
- To co-ordinate any professional accreditation matters that may arise
- To deliver high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth organisation and delivery of Role Play North (RPN)
- To manage bookings for role play sessions, liaising with staff and external customers as required
- Maintain accurate records and databases, including participant information inline with GDPR requirements for RPN
- Support finance related administration, including invoices and expense claims for RPN
- Any other duties within the scope and general nature of the grade which may be required. This includes some flexibility in working hours, to cover annual leave and absences and may include occasional weekend working (in the region of two Saturdays per year)

The Person
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Initiative and judgement to resolve problems independently
- Good written and/or oral communication skills
- Good numeracy skills
- Excellent IT skills. Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and ability to type documents with both reasonable speed and accuracy and the ability to manipulate and analyse information for management purposes
- Ability to build familiarity with work priorities and those of colleagues
- Understanding of relevant policies and procedures, as they affect the role, and the quality standards and outputs required
- Ability to apply relevant health and safety and other University policies and procedures

Qualifications
Good passes in English Language and Mathematics GCSE (or equivalent) or vocational qualifications, plus work experience in a relevant role; or substantial relevant work experience in the unit or a comparable setting
