The Role
We are seeking a proactive and organised Education Administrator to join our School of Pharmacy Professional Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator or customer service professional to support the delivery of our taught programmes and contribute to an excellent experience for students and staff.
Working closely with academic colleagues, students and central services, you will provide high-quality administrative support across the student lifecycle, from admissions and registration through to assessment, placements, progression and graduation. You will also support programme administration, timetabling, student records, committees, and quality assurance activities, ensuring processes are delivered efficiently and accurately.
We are looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will be confident building positive working relationships, committed to delivering excellent customer service, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, are essential, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

The position is open-ended and offered on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) with an immediate starting date. The role is predominantly campus-based on the City Campus in Newcastle upon Tyne. Key Accountabilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support for the school’s education activities across the student lifecycle, from registration through to graduation
- Support programme delivery, curriculum administration, assessment processes, and student progression in collaboration with academic and professional services colleagues
- Contribute to quality assurance, enhancement, accreditation, and regulatory activities, ensuring compliance with university requirements
- Maintain and update programme, module, and regulatory information, ensuring accuracy across University systems and documentation
- Manage student records and data, including module registrations, attendance information, and other student-related information held within university systems
- Support the administration of personal tutoring arrangements, including monitoring student engagement through relevant systems where required
- Coordinate assessment administration, including the collection of assessment materials, tracking marking processes, recording marks, and maintaining assessment records
- Support processes relating to student wellbeing, reasonable adjustments, and personal extenuating circumstances, ensuring sensitive and timely administration
- Assist with the administration and coordination of student placements, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with university, professional, and regulatory requirements
- Support the collection and submission of timetable requirements, liaising with academic colleagues to ensure effective scheduling and delivery of teaching activities
- Provide administrative support to committees and meetings, including agenda preparation, minute taking, action tracking, and follow-up activities as required
- Support admissions-related activities as required, including applicant administration and admissions events
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative systems, processes, and service delivery across the school
- Any other duties within the scope and general nature of the grade which may be required. This includes some flexibility in working hours and may include occasional weekend working (in the region of two Saturdays per year)

- Relevant experience in a similar role
- Ability to manage time effectively and takes responsibility for meeting own targets
- Effective planning and organisational skills with ability to solve problems
- Excellent IT skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office
- Flexible attitude to work demands and customers with a commitment to excellent customer service
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
- An excellent communicator both verbally and in writing with the ability to tailor messages to the appropriate audiences
