If you are an experienced registrant, who is passionate about training and education, conscientious and motivated and wants to make a difference to patient care though the development of our clinical workforce, this is the post for you. You will work as part of the corporate educational team and be involved in the development, implementation and management of education programmes across the health board, acting as a role model and providing advice and support relating to clinical skills development, post registration education and, preceptorship.

Main Duties of the Job

• To develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate a range of practice development, preceptorship, and educational initiatives designed to support newly qualified Band 5 nurses in their transition to registered practitioners across the Health Board.
• To provide dedicated pastoral support, supervision and guidance to novice practitioners during their preceptorship period, facilitating their integration into clinical teams and promoting confidence, competence and professional accountability within their first destination roles.
• To work collaboratively with clinical leaders, ward managers, multidisciplinary teams and education teams to identify learning and development needs, ensuring that educational interventions are responsive, evidence-based and aligned to organisational priorities and national workforce objectives.
• To support and assess practitioners within the clinical environment, bridging the gap between academic theory and clinical practice by facilitating the application of knowledge, skills and professional judgement in the workplace.
• To promote reflective practice, critical thinking and lifelong learning, enabling newly qualified practitioners to develop professionally while maintaining safe, effective and person-centred care.
• To act as a professional role model and resource for staff, fostering a positive learning culture that upholds professional standards, regulatory requirements and the values of the Health Board.
