Salary: Grade 12 - £28,595 per annum, increasing in set increments as per the Graduate Scheme, to a final salary of Grade 11 - £32,597 per annum.
Contract: The Graduate Scheme is fixed term for a period of 2 years.
Hours: 37 Hours a week

About the Role
Launch your career in music, data and creative industries. Working with Octagon Music Hub, you'll help measure and showcase the impact of music education across Somerset and Dorset. Supporting evaluation, data analysis, communications and programme development, you'll turn data into meaningful insights, create engaging content and help shape future decisions.
One day a week, you'll support the Somerset & Dorset Post-16 Creative Careers programme, helping develop pathways into creative employment through research, employer engagement, work experience opportunities and projects that inspire young people to explore careers in music and the wider creative sector.
This graduate opportunity offers hands-on experience in research, evaluation, communications, partnership working and project delivery, giving you the skills, knowledge and confidence to build a career in the cultural, education or public sectors.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Gain hands-on experience across a range of teams, developing valuable skills while supporting key council services.
- Contribute to service improvements by helping implement changes to systems, processes and ways of working.
- Support projects through research, analysis, administration and maintaining key project documentation.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues, partners, stakeholders and members of the public.
- Take ownership of your work, managing priorities and meeting deadlines while working independently and as part of a team.
- Use your technical and IT skills to support colleagues and help deliver effective solutions.
- Commit to your professional development through training, CPD and networking opportunities.
- Help deliver successful outcomes for Somerset by providing flexible support across a variety of projects and initiatives.

What You'll Bring
- Educated to degree level (minimum 2:2 – obtained within the last 3 years) with GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Strong communication, analytical and data interpretation skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, to manage and present information.
- Experience creating digital content and using data to measure impact and inform decision-making.
- Organised, adaptable and collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Further Information
- This role is subject to a DBS check
- 28 Days Annual Leave (Additional to Bank Holidays)
- Flexible working available, using a Hybrid model – working from home and your contracted work base.
- Professional Development Plan will be provided across the 2 Years; including cohort training sessions around skill development and reflective practice.
