Leicester Tigers Foundation Education Manager
Job Title: Education Manager
Reports to: Head of Education
Location: Across our Leicester and Coventry sites
Contract Type: Permanent, Full time
Salary: £35,000

Main Function
To provide operational leadership across Leicester Tigers Foundation education programmes, ensuring the effective day-to-day management, delivery, and quality assurance of provision across multiple sites and learner cohorts.
The post holder will be responsible for managing Education Leads, Education Officers, and associated delivery staff, ensuring programmes achieve recruitment, attendance, achievement, and progression targets while maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, learner support, and educational quality.
Working closely with the Head of Education, the Education Manager will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of education programmes including HITZ, King's Trust Programmes, HMP Fosse Way provision, Alternative Education Programmes, mentoring services, and employability initiatives.
Additional Key Responsibilities
- To provide operational leadership and direct line management to Education Leads, Education Officers, and associated delivery staff.
- To support the delivery and implementation of the Foundation's Education Strategy and departmental objectives.
- To oversee the day-to-day operation of assigned education programmes, ensuring high-quality learner experiences and positive outcomes.
- To ensure all programmes meet contractual, funding, and quality assurance requirements.
- To oversee learner recruitment, induction, attendance, retention, achievement, and progression processes.
- To support staff in the delivery of classroom, employability, and enrichment activities, ensuring consistent standards across all programmes.
- To undertake observations, quality reviews, and performance monitoring activities to drive continuous improvement.
- To monitor learner progress and implement appropriate interventions to support engagement, achievement, and progression.
- To work closely with the Pastoral & Safeguarding Lead to ensure robust safeguarding procedures are implemented and maintained.
- To support the management of learner behaviour, wellbeing, and additional support needs, ensuring programmes remain inclusive and accessible.
- To develop and maintain effective relationships with referral agencies, schools, colleges, prisons, employers, and community partners.
- To identify progression opportunities for learners, including further education, employment, volunteering, and training pathways.
- To maintain accurate records and monitoring systems in line with funder, awarding body, and organisational requirements.
- To contribute to programme reporting, impact measurement, and evaluation activities.
- To support the Head of Education with programme development, funding applications, and partnership opportunities.
- To contribute to staff recruitment, induction, supervision, and professional development processes.
- To support the management of programme budgets and resources.
- To act as a deputy safeguarding officer when required and support safeguarding investigations, referrals, and record keeping.
- To represent Leicester Tigers Foundation at meetings, events, and partnership forums as required.
- To act as an ambassador for Leicester Tigers Foundation and uphold its values at all times.
- To undertake any additional duties consistent with the seniority and scope of the role.

Personal Specification
Essential
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
- Experience of managing education, employability, or youth development programmes.
- Experience of line managing staff and supporting performance improvement.
- Experience working with young people facing barriers to education, employment, or training.
- Experience of delivering education, employability, or personal development programmes.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities relating to children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Experience of managing learner behaviour and supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience of monitoring programme performance and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to build positive relationships with learners, staff, partners, and stakeholders.
- Sound numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent).
- Designated Safeguarding Lead training.
- Experience of HITZ, King's Trust, or similar employability programmes.
- Experience working within Alternative Provision or Further Education.
- Level 2 NGB Coaching Qualification.
- Experience of working within custodial or rehabilitation settings.
- Knowledge of funding compliance and educational quality assurance frameworks.
- Experience contributing to funding applications and programme development.
