What you'll be doing

As an Education Sales Consultant for Hachette Learning, you'll be responsible for growing sales across Central and Eastern Scotland, helping schools access market-leading curriculum resources, assessment solutions, digital platforms and professional development services.

This is a field-based sales role where you'll spend your time building relationships, identifying opportunities and helping schools improve outcomes for teachers and learners.

You will:

  • Manage and grow a sales territory across Primary and Secondary schools.
  • Build relationships with Headteachers, Senior Leaders, Curriculum Leads, Subject Leaders and Local Authority stakeholders.
  • Promote and sell curriculum, assessment, digital and professional development solutions.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and demonstrations to education customers.
  • Develop new business opportunities while nurturing long-term customer partnerships.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to both territory and national business goals.
  • Attend education conferences, events and exhibitions, representing Hachette Learning.
  • Provide valuable market insight to help shape future products and commercial strategy.

Who we are looking for

We're looking for a motivated, ambitious and relationship-driven individual who is excited by the challenge of sales and passionate about supporting education.

You may already be a successful field sales professional looking for your next challenge, or you could come from an education background and be ready to use your expertise in a commercial role. Most importantly, you'll be motivated by achieving targets, building relationships and making a positive difference in schools.

You'll bring:

  • A genuine interest in education and improving outcomes for teachers and learners.
  • A passion for sales and a strong desire to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong organisational and territory management skills.
  • Confidence using digital tools and presenting solutions both in person and virtually.

This role is a homeworking field based role with occasional requirements to visit our regional offices as necessary.

The role attracts the benefit of a company car and therefore it is essential that applicants possess a full UK drivers license.

This is a permanent term-time position.
