Location: Glenrothes or Cupar office (the service operates a blended working model with clear expectations around regular office/collegiate contact)
Selection Process
Candidates should be aware that we will be running a mandatory in-person selection process involving several elements including a discussion task and individual interview. This will require you to be available in-person for one full day within Fife. The post will be available on a maximum of 0.8 FTE basis, with a full-time salary range of £63,423 - £77,718. Candidates interested in working less than the advertised 0.8FTE but no less than 0.5FTE should contact the lead recruiter to discuss in advance of interview.

Job Details
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated educational psychologist who is passionate about improving life chances for all, with a particular focus on those young people who are most vulnerable and at risk of poor outcomes.
As an educational psychologist in Fife, you will join a dynamic Educational Psychology Service that offers a comprehensive induction and supervision programme. There is a strong commitment to supporting the professional development of all staff and the service is currently involved in a wide range of research and development opportunities across the Education Directorate and with multi-agency partners.

We operate a blended approach to work within FCEPS which incorporates office working, fieldwork and home working as part of your working week. Our core team working day is a Tuesday where our staff are office based to ensure team time and internal networking opportunities are built into our work.

The Person
- Recent and relevant experience of Educational Psychology practice
- Honours degree in psychology, conferring basis for graduate membership of the BPS, and a postgraduate qualification in educational psychology
- A high level of interpersonal, organisational and consultation skills and abilities which will enable you to demonstrate professional autonomy within a culture of collective responsibility to our service and our stakeholders
- The ability to work on your own initiative with appropriate assertiveness
- Practice consistent with our Service’s aims and priorities
- Demonstrable success in collaborative working, and success in working within agreed professional guidelines
- A commitment to your own professional learning as an educational psychologist through career-long professional learning activity and to be able to show how this has impacted on your practice
- You are required to be fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or to be on track to complete your Qualification in Educational Psychology, which will ensure you are eligible to register with the HCPC; to model all behaviour expected of an educational psychologist in Scotland in line with the relevant Professional Standards.
