Bedford Borough Educational Psychology Service is growing.
As part of our ambitious Experts at Hand programme, we are expanding our team and looking for Educational Psychologists who want to make a meaningful difference to children, young people, families, and schools.
We are proud of the strong relationships we have built with our schools and the high level of demand for our service. 97% of our schools actively choose to buy additional Educational Psychology support because they value our work, our psychological approach, and the impact we have on outcomes for children and young people.
Alongside statutory responsibilities, our Educational Psychologists are actively involved in consultation, training, organisational development, research, and strategic SEND projects. This creates opportunities to apply psychology at individual, group, systemic, and strategic levels.
Whether you are a newly qualified Educational Psychologist looking for a supportive environment in which to develop your practice, an experienced EP seeking a fresh challenge, or an Associate EP interested in flexible work opportunities, we would love to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
