The children, staff and Governors wish to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced 1:1 SEND Educational Support Assistant into our school community to play a key role supporting the needs of a specific pupil in Year 2.

Our Successful Candidate Will

  • Be an outstanding role model to children, demonstrating our school values
  • Have high expectations for children and their learning and be passionate about enabling every child to fulfil their potential

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Be committed to being part of a small, family team; demonstrating adaptability where needed
  • Have experience of working with pupils within the EYFS or implementing an Early Years play-based curriculum
  • Have experience in supporting children with additional needs – particularly those with complex social communication and interaction needs and sensory difficulties.

Experience of the following statements would be desirable, although relevant training will be provided:

  • Have experience with use of a Total Communication Approach to enable pupils to communicate their needs and preferences effectively, when verbal communication is challenging. For example; objects of reference/talking mats.
  • Have some experience of implementing an intensive interaction approach to support the development of social communication skills in pupils who have a diagnosis of Autism or complex learning difficulties.
