The UHS Estates Ltd (UEL) is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us. We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically minded Systems Manager to join our Estates, Facilities and Capital Development (EFCD) team on a 12 month secondment.

Job Title: EFCD Systems Manager

Contract Type: Fixed term with option of secondment due to covering leave within the team. Funded until 31/11/27

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about digital systems, data and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in supporting and developing the department's Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) and associated digital platforms, helping to drive innovation and improve the services that support a large and complex healthcare environment.

As part of our team, you will work closely with operational teams, managers, system suppliers and stakeholders across the organisation, you will lead system improvements, support digital projects, develop reporting solutions and help shape the future of EFCD's digital strategy. The role offers a varied mix of systems administration, project delivery, data analysis, reporting and user engagement.

We are looking for someone with strong technical and analytical skills, experience of database or enterprise systems, and the ability to translate business requirements into practical digital solutions. Experience of Power BI, SQL, Microsoft 365 and systems integration would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical colleagues and have a passion for improving processes through technology.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

In this role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and developing the department's Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) and associated digital platforms
  • Data import, entry and validation to enable management reporting
  • User support, training and issue resolution for software users

About You

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or have an equivalent level of relevant skills and experience You will have strong technical and analytical skills with experience of database or enterprise systems, and the ability to translate business requirements into practical digital solutions You will have a collaborative approach with excellent communication and influencing skills

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience

Essential criteria

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge with demonstrable vocational training and equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of CAFM/IWMS databases
  • Specialist knowledge of data analysis
  • Broad range of technical knowledge attained in a non-educational environment
  • Use Microsoft Office to an advanced standard
  • Practical Experience of at least 2 of the following:- Relational Databases, SQL programming, SRSS Report Manager, Information Analysis, Power BI
  • Practical enterprise level database administration and/or development experience
  • Numerate and IT literate to a high standard with experience of producing own reports/documents/presentations/improvement strategies as appropriate
  • Experience in training others or demonstrating the use of technology
  • Experience in motivating and gaining the cooperation of others

Desirable criteria

  • Formal training in appropriate technologies
  • Experience working in an Estates or Facilities environment
  • Exposure to Systems integration methodologies and solutions
  • Experience in the production of technical documentation
  • Confident in the use of smartphone and tablet technology
  • Able to discuss technical details with non-technical staff
  • Experience of working across organisations in a similar role
