EfW Maintenance Technician - EC&I
Join us as an EfW Maintenance Technician (EC&I) at our Energy Recovery Facility in Redcar, where we transform residual waste into renewable energy and help create a more sustainable future. At SUEZ, you'll play a vital role in keeping critical infrastructure running safely and efficiently while supporting the UK's circular economy.
Salary: £48,778 - £53,020
Benefits: 10% bonus, 3x life assurance policy, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, 5% employer pension, sick pay, and additional benefits.
Location: Wilton 11 EfW, Wilton International, REDCAR, TS10 4RG
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday -Thursday =7.30am-4pm, Friday =7.30am-1pm
Call out: 1 week in 4 - £250 per week
About The Role
What will I be doing?
As an EC&I Maintenance Technician, you'll help maintain and improve the performance of our Energy from Waste (EfW) facility in Redcar, ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant. You'll work with modern electrical, control and instrumentation systems while contributing to sustainability and renewable energy generation.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Delivering planned and reactive EC&I maintenance to maximise plant reliability and availability.
- Providing technical expertise on key systems including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs and Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS).
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical, control and instrumentation faults efficiently and safely.
- Supporting, mentoring and sharing knowledge with junior technicians and colleagues across the site.
- Participating in a fully compensated 1-in-4 on-call rota to provide essential operational support.

What are the requirements?
We're interested in skilled, safety-conscious individuals who enjoy problem-solving and collaborative working. To be successful, you'll have:
- A completed engineering apprenticeship and City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience working with PLCs, instrumentation, fault-finding and DCS systems within an industrial, energy, manufacturing or process environment.
- A valid C&G 2377 PAT Testing qualification.
- A health and safety qualification such as IOSH (or equivalent); support with further training may be available.
- A proactive approach, strong teamwork skills and a commitment to safe working practices.
