EHS Advisor Data Centre Construction

£60,000 - £70,000 + Accommodation + Rotation + Living Allowance

Blyth, England, United Kingdom (On-Site)


We are recruiting an experienced EHS Advisor to join a major data centre construction project in Blyth, United Kingdom.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional to join a leading data centre delivery partner, supporting the safe delivery of a large-scale mission-critical project. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing EHS standards, supporting site teams, and ensuring compliance with company policies, legislation, and project requirements.

As EHS Advisor, you will work closely with the Project Management team, Construction Managers, subcontractors, and site personnel to promote a proactive safety culture and maintain the highest standards of Environmental, Health & Safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures across the project lifecycle.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, safety audits, and observations to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation, review, and monitoring of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
  • Support incident investigations and assist with corrective and preventative actions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through engagement with site teams and subcontractors.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness sessions.
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation, inspection records, and safety reports.
  • Attend site safety meetings, project meetings, and coordination meetings.
  • Support the preparation of safety performance reports and project EHS statistics.
  • Provide advice and guidance to project teams on health & safety requirements and best practices.
  • Assist with environmental and sustainability compliance requirements.
  • Identify EHS risks and support the implementation of effective solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree, diploma, or recognised qualification in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Construction Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 25 years experience working within an EHS/Safety Advisor role in construction or engineering environments.
  • Good understanding of UK health & safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience supporting EHS activities on large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience reviewing RAMS, carrying out inspections, and supporting audits.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with site teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualifications are desirable.
  • Previous experience within Data Centres, Mission Critical, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, or Infrastructure projects is advantageous.
