EHS Business Leader

At Prestwick Service Centre, we specialise in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft engine nacelle systems and engine components. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced EHS Business Leader to help us maintain a safe, responsible and compliant operation while supporting the quality MRO services we provide to customers across Europe and the Middle East.
What You Will Do
- Lead the site’s environment, health and safety (EHS) strategy, aligning it with Collins Aerospace standards, regulatory requirements and business needs.
- Be the primary EHS adviser to site leaders and employees, building a culture in which everyone takes ownership of safety and environmental performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable UK EHS legislation and company standards, including environmental reporting and regulatory submissions.
- Develop and continually improve EHS management systems, plans and procedures covering areas such as risk assessment, ergonomics, confined spaces, respiratory protection, electrical safety and contractor safety.
- Monitor EHS performance through metrics and audits. Lead incident and near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, and effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead EHS training and communications so that employees and leaders have the knowledge and competence needed to work safely.
- Provide EHS guidance for site changes and projects, identifying risks early and ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
- Maintain effective emergency preparedness arrangements and work with site leaders to address EHS risks and opportunities.
- Build effective relationships with employees, leaders, regulators, contractors and specialist teams to support compliance and continuous improvement.
- Use data and digital tools to improve EHS visibility, decision-making and performance.
- Identify practical opportunities to improve safety, environmental performance and efficiency while complying with Collins Aerospace policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics, Intellectual Property and International Trade Compliance requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have
- A degree in EHS, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience leading EHS activities within a manufacturing, engineering, aerospace or similarly regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK EHS legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
- Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels and advise senior stakeholders.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience developing and implementing EHS management systems, including risk management, compliance, auditing, incident investigation and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing environmental compliance, reporting and improvement programmes.
- Experience establishing EHS controls for contractors and third-party service providers.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing EHS priorities.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
- A proactive, pragmatic approach and the confidence to challenge practices where needed.
- Initiative, enthusiasm and the ability to work independently and as part of the Site Leadership Team.
- A strong commitment to creating a safe, compliant and high-performing workplace.
