EHS Compliance Officer
Location: Hartlepool
Employment: Full-time, permanent, on-site role

Natara is a fast-paced, ambitious global manufacturer of speciality ingredients, with operations across the UK and internationally.
We are looking for an EHS Compliance Officer to join our team in Hartlepool. This is a hands-on role supporting the site in maintaining high standards across environmental, health, safety and regulatory compliance.
Working closely with site leadership and colleagues across the operation, you will help ensure that policies, procedures and working practices are understood, followed and continually improved.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of EHS policies, procedures and management systems.
- Monitor site compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Complete workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and environmental events.
- Identify corrective actions and work with relevant teams to ensure they are completed.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, reports and compliance documentation.
- Support the delivery of EHS training, inductions and toolbox talks.
- Monitor environmental performance, waste management and site controls.
- Help prepare for internal, customer and regulatory audits.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage colleagues to take ownership of EHS standards.
- Provide practical advice and support to managers, supervisors and employees across the site.
- Support emergency preparedness and response arrangements.

Qualifications And Experience
- Previous experience in an environmental, health and safety or compliance role, ideally within manufacturing, chemicals, engineering or another regulated environment.
- A good understanding of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Experience completing audits, inspections and risk assessments.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- A practical, proactive approach with the confidence to engage with people at every level.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- A relevant EHS qualification, such as NEBOSH or IOSH, would be advantageous.
- Experience within a COMAH or highly regulated manufacturing environment would also be beneficial.
