EHS Manager – Temporary Contract
If you like to come in and make a difference, then this one's for you!
Location: Hertfordshire
Contract: 6 months initially, potential extension
Working pattern: Monday–Friday, flexible hours
Day rate: Around £450 per day (inside IR35 PAYE via umbrella)
The Role
We are looking for an experienced EHS professional / EHS Manager to support a medium-sized manufacturing site in Hertfordshire.
The initial contract will be 6 months, with a good chance of extension. We're looking to bring someone in on contract who can stabilise the site, address the current backlog and make a clear impact.
This is a hands-on management position with responsibility for the site's day-to-day EHS performance. You will have an EHS Advisor reporting directly to you, so you will need to be confident managing, delegating, and providing direction while remaining close to the operational detail.
About the Site
The site is a medium-sized manufacturing facility producing a variety of mainly cement and sand-based products.
There are 100+ employees working across operations, alongside a larger office-based population.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
