Job Title: EHS Engineer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive EHS Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the EHS Manager, you will support the delivery of environmental, health and safety activities across the site, helping to maintain compliance, promote a positive safety culture, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Position:
- Support the maintenance of Environmental, Health & Safety programmes and procedures.
- Assist with accident, incident and near miss reporting, investigations and corrective action tracking.
- Support EHS inspections, audits and workplace assessments.
- Maintain EHS records, databases and documentation.
- Assist with the management of contractor activities and associated documentation.
- Coordinate EHS training activities and maintain training records.
- Assist with the development and communication of EHS awareness campaigns and safety initiatives.
- Support the completion and review of risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH assessments.
- Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management, environmental permitting requirements, sustainability reporting and resource efficiency initiatives.
- Assist with the monitoring and reporting of environmental performance metrics, including energy, water, waste and emissions data.
- Support the maintenance of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties in support of the EHS function.

About You:
- NEBOSH Certificate (minimum) or actively working towards certification
- Strong working knowledge of UK EHS legislation
- Knowledge and practical experience of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards, including supporting audits, compliance activities and management system processes.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership
- Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with employees at all levels.
- Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and respond effectively to changing business demands.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Preferred:
- Environmental qualification, experience, or a willingness to study towards a recognised environmental qualification.
- Experience of environmental compliance, sustainability programmes, waste management or environmental management systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory compliance requirements would be advantageous.
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals / COSHH management and Sustainability
- Experience of ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems
- Previous experience in an EHS, Compliance, or Manufacturing is desirable.
