Provide advice and guidance to the management team on EHS policy. Produce procedures where required to support company policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a risk management system ensuring that risk is identified and managed effectively.
• Identify and evaluate applicable legal and other requirements and implement measures to ensure continued compliance.
• Provide advice and guidance to the management team on objectives and targets to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure that systems are in place to minimize the Plant’s environmental impacts through effective monitoring and measuring in accordance with legal and other requirements.
• Design and implement effective training systems to provide employees with sufficient information, instruction, and training to enable safe working.
• Maintain an internal assurance system to ensure that EHS systems are working effectively through a scheduled audit and inspection plan.
• Maintain a review system to ensure that the management system is being delivered as planned.
• Identify changes and ensure that where EHS is affected it is managed into the business without introducing additional risk.
• Ensure that all incidents and adverse occurrences are reported, investigated, and collated to identify trends, communicate lessons learned, and preventative actions are implemented.
• Manage the introduction of hazardous materials into the plant and ensure that systems are implemented and maintained to ensure their safe use.
• Provide advice and guidance to the management team on emergency response, including associated training and evacuation drills, and coordination with external agencies.
• Maintain certification to EHS standards as required and liaise with external suppliers to schedule third-party audits.
• Maintain a system of monitoring and measuring to enable accurate and timely reporting of EHS data to internal and external stakeholders.
