At Etex, we seek to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our customers and our communities. Are you looking for a company where you can learn, grow & lead? Join us as an EHS Officer in our Bristol plant!
The Role
This is a development role supporting the EHS Manager and wider EHS team across our Bristol plant and our office-based and field teams. It is a great first step into an EHS Officer position, with broad exposure across compliance, reporting, training, and improvement work, and a clear route to progress. You will be based on site at Bristol, working Monday to Friday with flexible hours to make up 39 hours per week.
What You’ll Do
- Help keep the site compliant and audit-ready.
- Produce monthly EHS reports for the UK Leadership Team and own month-end reporting to our global EHS team.
- Maintain our EHS data and dashboards in Power BI, spotting trends and turning them into improvement actions.
- Carry out safety observations and run campaigns to build a zero-harm culture.
- Lead our Non-Operational EHS Committee and run EHS training for our office-based and field teams.
- Support line managers with risk assessments and carry out root cause analysis on audit findings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
