Job Description
We are looking for an experienced EHS Specialist to support the delivery of Environmental, Health & Safety strategy within a growing engineering and manufacturing environment.
Based in Rugby, this site-based role will support both day-to-day manufacturing operations and a major factory expansion project, helping to ensure the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the site's EHS strategy and management systems.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through risk assessments, training, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Provide EHS support for a major construction and expansion project, ensuring adherence to CDM requirements and safe working practices.
- Conduct audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Support site security, emergency preparedness, and contractor management processes.
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation including COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, RIDDOR, and CDM.
- Contribute to environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.

About You
- NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum, with Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in an operational EHS role within manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or industrial environments.
- Good knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and risk management practices.
- Experience supporting contractors and construction or CAPEX projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Desirable
- UK citizenship is essential. Only candidates who hold UK passport will be considered for this role.
- Experience within power generation, rotating equipment, heavy engineering, or other high-hazard industries.
- ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 auditing experience.
- Environmental compliance or incident investigation training.
Additional Information
This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance as a UK Passport Holder. Applicants not cleared will not be accepted into the business until this clearance is provided. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority.
