Program Completion Report

Dard Welfare Society in collaboration with Ehsaas International successfully completed a 2-day program focusing on health and education in Gurez Valley.

Program Highlights

  • Education Awareness: Education opportunities were discussed with the students.
  • Student Engagement: The team reached out to more than 300 students who were enrolled on the spot, given free coaching guidance, and exposed to different student programs available.
  • Free Coaching: Many students were enrolled on the spot for free coaching for Medical, Non-Medical, and Civil Service Examinations purely on merit and EWS class.
  • Scholarship Announcement: The meritorious students were informed that they will be guided to pursue their education in the best colleges and universities, both in India and outside the country.
  • COVID Awareness: Awareness was provided among the students explaining their role in society to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Health Camp

  • Super Specialty Health Camp: Many senior doctors with specializations in different fields of medicine like urology, pediatrics, chest medicine, internal medicine, dermatology, etc., provided door-step services to the people of Gurez and Tulail valley.
  • Free Medicines: Distribution of free medicines among the patients.
  • Patient Screening: 350 patients were screened by the doctors.
  • Specialist Needs: Doctors emphasized that the people of the area need a full-time dermatologist, ENT, and ophthalmologist, as the people in these areas are suffering from these ailments for years without any options for proper treatment.
  • Future Health Camp: The doctors committed to conducting a health camp specifically on the above-noticed ailments again in the coming months.

Post-Screening Support

  • PPE Kits Donation: 300 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits were donated to BMO Gurez.
  • Local Representatives: Local representatives like Sarpanch, VLC, BDC were facilitated and encouraged by awards and also given the responsibility to identify the poor and meritorious students who can avail the benefit of the scholarships for coaching and admissions.

Government Officials Participation

  • Appreciation: Many officials from the government took part in this event.
  • Acknowledgment: The SDM, BMO, SDPO & ZEO (Gurez) were appreciated for their support and handling of the COVID outbreak in Gurez and Tulail valley.
