Hays Recruitment Electrician Opportunity

Hays Recruitment are actively recruiting experienced Electricians to join a growing compliance programme across the North West, carrying out EICR testing and associated remedial works within residential properties. This is an excellent opportunity for self-motivated electricians looking for long-term, consistent work with strong earning potential and a well-organised appointment schedule.

Your new role

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
  • Completing C1 and C2 remedial works identified during testing
  • Replacing accessories including switches, sockets, and minor electrical components
  • Uploading certification and completed reports via the client's NIC portal
  • Working independently across a scheduled patch
  • Delivering excellent customer service within occupied residential properties
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with current regulations

Appointments will be pre-booked, with 3-5 inspections scheduled per day. All materials required for remedial works will be supplied.

  • £60 per completed EICR
  • £15 per smoke alarm / smoke head installed
  • Payment made upon successful completion of the EICR and upload of certification to the NIC portal
  • C1 & C2 remedial works such as switches, sockets, and other minor accessories are included within the EICR rate
  • Gross payment available for operatives working through their own Limited Company

What you'll need to succeed

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • 2391, 2394/2395, or equivalent Testing & Inspection qualification
  • Experience carrying out EICRs and remedial works
  • Own vehicle
  • Own calibrated test equipment
  • Ability to upload certificates electronically
  • Strong understanding of current electrical regulations
  • Excellent customer-facing skills

Desirable:

  • Own Limited Company
  • Previous experience working on social housing, compliance, or large-scale EICR programmes
  • Experience using NIC certification platforms
