EL & PL Solicitor / Senior Paralegal, Belfast, £Neg

Overview

Pathway Legal is delighted to be working with an established and highly regarded law firm in East Belfast to recruit an experienced EL/PL Solicitor to join its claimant litigation team. The firm is ideally seeking a qualified Solicitor with experience in Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims, with approximately 1–7 years’ PQE. However, they are flexible on background and would also consider an experienced Senior Paralegal with strong EL/PL experience and the ability to manage their own caseload.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced personal injury professional looking to join a flexible and supportive firm and develop their career within claimant litigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of claimant Employers’ Liability and Public Liability matters.
  • Handle cases from initial instruction through to settlement or conclusion.
  • Advise clients clearly and professionally throughout the claims process.
  • Investigate liability and assess the merits and value of claims.
  • Liaise and negotiate with insurers, defendants, medical experts and other relevant parties.
  • Draft correspondence, legal documentation and instructions to experts as required.
  • Progress cases efficiently while ensuring all relevant deadlines are met.
  • Deliver a high standard of client care throughout each matter.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
