Elderly Care Home Manager

Location: Falkirk

Salary: Up to £65,000

Compass Associates are supporting a progressive elderly care provider in the appointment of a Care Home Manager for a well-established service in Falkirk.

This is a key leadership position for an individual who can take ownership of the home's day-to-day performance while building a confident, engaged and capable team. You will be responsible for maintaining excellent standards of care and creating the conditions for the service to continue developing over the long term.

The organisation places significant emphasis on investment, staff development and sustainable service improvement, providing managers with the support and resources required to deliver consistently high standards.

The Role

You will hold overall accountability for the home's care delivery, people, culture and operational standards.

Working closely with your management and care teams, you will establish a clear sense of direction and ensure residents receive personalised support that promotes choice, independence and quality of life.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of the home's overall care standards and day-to-day leadership
  • Ensuring residents' individual needs are understood and consistently reflected in their care
  • Building an effective multidisciplinary team through strong leadership, coaching and development
  • Providing clear guidance and appropriate clinical oversight to support safe practice
  • Maintaining effective safeguarding arrangements and responding appropriately to concerns
  • Leading service development and embedding improvements into everyday practice
  • Creating open channels of communication with staff, residents and their families
  • Using feedback, learning and service information to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Working constructively with external professionals and partner agencies
  • Developing existing talent and supporting succession planning across the service

About You

We are looking for a leader who combines compassion with the confidence to set direction and maintain high standards.

You will bring:

  • Previous leadership experience within elderly care or a comparable care environment
  • Strong experience managing and developing teams
  • The ability to establish trust while maintaining appropriate accountability
  • A clear commitment to dignity, choice and person-centred care
  • Confidence managing change and maintaining team cohesion during periods of development
  • Experience of quality improvement and embedding effective working practices
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A reflective approach to leadership, with a genuine interest in developing others
  • The resilience and professionalism required to manage the demands of a senior care leadership position

Candidate Suitability Note

This position is aimed at experienced care professionals with a proven track record of leadership within an elderly care setting.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a multidisciplinary workforce and take responsibility for the overall quality and performance of a care service.
