Elections Manager | Up to £56,293 | Flexible Working | Closing date: September 27th
Location: Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale
Salary: £51,928 - £56,293
Hours: Full time / Part time / Flexible
About the role:
We’re looking for a motivated and capable individual to manage our Electoral Services team. Previous experience in electoral services is welcome but not essential. What’s most important is the ability to lead people, manage projects, and build effective relationships. We’ll provide the successful candidate with the training, mentoring, and support needed to develop expertise and confidence in this specialist field.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead and manage the Elections Team to deliver effective and customer-focused services
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Plan and deliver local, regional, and national elections, including staffing, training, and logistics
- Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the electoral register
- Manage budgets and resources effectively
- Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, agents, and stakeholders
- Drive improvements in processes and customer service

What we're looking for:
- Experience of leading, managing, or supervising a team
- Experience of managing projects, services, or programmes of work with competing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, policies, or guidance
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work accurately and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Willingness to develop specialist knowledge of electoral services and democratic processes
