The role is based at our offices in Stotfold, but regular travel to different locations across the Council’s area will be necessary. Additionally, at election times you will need to be able to work unsociable and extended hours and occasionally some weekends.
We are looking for someone with excellent customer care, IT skills and strong written and oral communication. The postholder must be highly organised, flexible and be able to work with a team to meet tight non moveable deadlines. Previous experience working within elections and electoral registration is preferable. The ability to plan, prioritize and work on own initiative is essential.

The postholder will be part of the team responsible for producing and maintaining the electoral register including supporting the annual canvass and managing elections and referenda for the area. A key area of responsibility will be to assist in creating an engagement strategy for registration in the hard-to-reach groups and under 18s. This will require you to drive to Care Homes, Schools, Universities and other community locations to promote democracy and registration.
Ideally you will have completed the Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA)- Foundation Course and be prepared to study for the AEA certificate. Additional work specific training is available as required.
