Opportunity at BAWCo
Due to increasing workload, BAWCo would like to present you with an opportunity to join one of the largest and best-established independent electric motor repair companies in the north of England. We are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated individual to join our experienced and innovative team.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Experience and proven ability in the repair/rewinding of electric motors
- Knowledge of single-phase, three-phase, and DC motors
- Ability to work on low voltage motors up to 500kw
- Confidence to read and interpret wiring diagrams
- Experience in generator and high voltage repairs is desirable though not essential
- Ability to work within a team and motivation to progress individually
- Understanding of Health and Safety Regulations
- Respect for work colleagues, workplace machinery and customer equipment.

Main Duties
- Dismantling, fault finding and assessment of various types of electric motors.
- All aspects of electric motor overhaul and repair
- Stripping, detailing and copy winding of stators and rotors
- Stripping, detailing and copy winding of armatures and field coils
- Connecting windings
- Final testing and reporting of repaired motors.

Our busy workshop supports clients in sectors including chemical, quarrying, general engineering, and utilities. We often respond to urgent repair requirements, so flexibility and willingness to work overtime when needed are essential.

Job Details and Benefits
- Full-time employment
- 40hr working week Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30
- Regular Saturday morning and general overtime when required
- Starting at £18.79 per hour (dependent on experience and skill level)
- Annual Leave: 28 days including Bank Holidays
- Workplace Pension Scheme

- An initial trial period of 6 months applies
