Introduction

Fives Stein Ltd. is actively seeking an Electrical and Controls Engineer to join its teams in Didcot, UK.

Job Content

We are currently seeking a [position], who has the same desire to prove that  industry can do it!  

At Fives we all have a part to play in achieving our common purpose. Your role will be to: 

  • Trouble-shoot malfunctions and provide preventive and corrective maintenance for our site equipment. 
  • Suggest actions for improvement and to enhance reliability. In addition, update the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) by entering maintenance operation reports. 
  • Follow the procedures and rules for health and safety.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Low Voltage Electrical and Control Systems
  • Proficiency with CAD software (experience with E Plan preferred)
  • Knowledge and familiarity with setting up Variable Frequency Inverter Drives (VFDs)

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation and reports.

Problem-Solving:

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Analytical Thinking:

  • Ability to critically assess existing practices and interpret complex legislation and guidance.

Team Player:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, but also capable of working independently with initiative.

Beneficial Experience:

  • Low Voltage Distribution & Switchgear: Thyristor and Transformer control.
  • Programming, fault finding PLC/HMI systems, Siemens based
  • Medium Voltage Distribution & Switchgear: Knowledge of medium voltage systems is a plus.
  • Power systems: Experience with working and specifying transformers and supply runs (cable and busbar) would be highly desirable.
