Electrical CAD Engineer

At Aston Martin, our vehicles are defined by exceptional engineering, innovative technology, and timeless design. As we continue to shape the future of high-performance luxury vehicles, we are seeking an Electrical CAD Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of world-class electrical and electronic systems across our future vehicle programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled CAD professional to join our Electrical Engineering team, supporting the development of cutting-edge vehicle architectures and components from concept through to production. You will be responsible for generating and progressing CAD maturity, manipulating supplier CAD data, and delivering robust engineering solutions that support future Aston Martin products.

Working closely with Programme, Package, Commodity and Design teams, you will identify and deliver CAD activities required to support programme milestones. You will create and develop electrical engineering component designs within Siemens NX, working in partnership with commodity and component engineers to ensure designs meet performance, package and manufacturing requirements. Alongside this, you will monitor and report CAD maturity, maintain CAD generation and quality standards, and ensure engineering data is managed effectively through Teamcenter Engineering.

A significant part of the role will involve the release and maintenance of 3D models, 2D drawings and digital bucks to Aston Martin standards, whilst supporting virtual series activities including assembly builds, CAD generation and data population. You will engage regularly with suppliers and internal stakeholders to gather critical design information, facilitate package studies and reviews, and support engineering teams throughout the product development cycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will also play a vital role in resolving engineering issues by ensuring accurate and timely CAD data is available to both internal teams and external suppliers. This includes supporting part procurement activities, leading design reviews where required, managing data transfers through web-based portals and high-speed data links, and proactively communicating any risks to project timing or data delivery.

To be successful, you will have demonstrable experience working within an automotive engineering environment and possess strong CAD design capabilities, ideally within Siemens NX. Experience managing engineering data using Teamcenter, releasing production-level CAD and drawing data, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams is essential. You will be highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced programme environment where quality, accuracy and timing are critical.

In return, Aston Martin offers the opportunity to work on some of the world's most desirable vehicles, contributing to innovative engineering solutions that define the future of luxury performance automotive technology. You will join a passionate team in an environment that encourages collaboration, continuous improvement and professional development.
