This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems to some of the UK's largest Utility companies across the UK, to join as an ambitious Electrical CAD Technician and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth
Hours – Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5:00pm
As an experienced Electrical AutoCAD Technician, you will be working as part of a close knit team, taking concept designs through to detailed manufacturing drawings using your knowledge of AutoCAD (Electrical) Software and parametric modelling software as well as experience of working on a wide variety of electrical projects.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Experience of creating / modifying electrical schematics in Autodesk AutoCAD (minimum 2 years).
- Experience of creating / modifying electrical cabinet internal layouts (minimum 2 years)
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications (essential)
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively using Microsoft teams (essential).
- Experience of using Autodesk REVIT to produce electrical equipment room layouts (preferable).
- Knowledge of Solidworks Electrical Schematic Software (preferable).
- Experience of dealing with a key infrastructure client (preferable).
- HNC/HND/BTec in Engineering (Electrical). Preferred but not essential (dependent on the applicant).
- Knowledge of HV/LV distribution systems and electrical building systems
- Experience in Security, Access Control and CCTV Alarm Systems would be preferable.
- A good knowledge of electrical engineering design principles
- Proficient in producing intelligent library blocks with attributes for data extraction.
- Proficient in CAD data file management and drawing management procedures
- Good attention to detail, working in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work as part of a small team / liaise with site teams
- Good communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to deal with requests for information in a professional manner.
- Knowledge / experience of National Grid Drawing procedures TP135 would be advantageous.

Main Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare, produce, develop and amend drawings in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures and in line with the agreed timescales and deadlines.
- Design layouts, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly and part drawings and associated cable schedules, BOM's and cut lists.
- Provide technical support to shop floor and on-site technicians.
- Revise drawings and red-line markups appropriately.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with stakeholders, across various teams and discipline groups, across various projects.
- Be pro-active in streamlining and automating drawing and engineering processes and propose improvement ideas.
- Attend occasional site surveys.
