The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join a major engineering and infrastructure programme within a highly regulated environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary commissioning team, you will play a key role in ensuring electrical systems are safely tested, validated, and handed over in accordance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with commissioning, testing, and fault-finding experience who thrives in complex industrial environments and enjoys working collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and operational stakeholders.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with project managers, design teams, and key stakeholders to deliver electrical commissioning activities.
  • Develop and review commissioning documentation, including commissioning test procedures, test records, and validation documentation.
  • Participate in design and constructability reviews to ensure systems are commissionable and operational requirements are fully considered.
  • Support detailed commissioning planning and take ownership of assigned commissioning programmes and test activities.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and execute site commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Supervise contractors and commissioning personnel to ensure safe and effective delivery of commissioning works.
  • Carry out electrical commissioning tests, inspections, and functional checks on plant and equipment.
  • Undertake fault-finding, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues identified during testing and commissioning.
  • Analyse and validate test results, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities are delivered in compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate commissioning records, test documentation, and handover packs.
  • Support system acceptance, handover, and return-to-service activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
