About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager / Estimator who can confidently manage projects, workloads and electrical teams while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, contractors and consulting engineers.

This is a varied position covering both the commercial and operational sides of electrical contracting, from tendering projects valued up to £500,000 to programming works, allocating labour, managing health and safety and overseeing projects on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tendering electrical projects to the value of £500,000.
  • Evaluating, programming and managing workloads and assigning labour to projects.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and consulting engineers while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Taking responsibility for Health & Safety and ensuring RAMS are adhered to.
  • Communicating and enforcing health and safety requirements on site, including carrying out site safety audits.
  • Managing and supporting a team of electricians.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an Electrical Contracts Manager / Estimator.
  • Good technical knowledge and practical understanding of the electrical industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A flexible approach to work and its demands.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and to short deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 18th Edition and NVQ Level 3.
  • C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing.
  • IOSH Managing Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • A current ECS card.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • An HNC/HND in an engineering or construction-related discipline would be an advantage.
