The Role

As an Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineering Lead, you will take on a pivotal leadership role at the heart of the UK’s fast-evolving modular reactor and advanced nuclear sector. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to nationally significant programmes that are redefining how clean energy is generated, deployed, and sustained.

You will lead technical delivery across electrical, control and instrumentation engineering, ensuring robust, high-quality outcomes that support safe, efficient and innovative nuclear solutions. Working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, you will help shape future power station design while developing your career in one of the most exciting areas of defence, aerospace and engineering.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week, based remotely, with occasional travel to sites in the North-West of England.

Day-to-day, you will be required to:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex projects on time and to scope
  • Oversee electrical, control and instrumentation engineering assurance, ensuring quality, compliance, and technical excellence
  • Review and approve technical outputs such as calculations, specifications, and reports
  • Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to support delivery and future growth
  • Promote collaboration, safety, and best practice across engineering teams

Essential experience of the EC&I Engineering Lead:

  • Demonstrating extensive engineering experience within a relevant discipline, supported by a degree or equivalent qualification
  • Holding Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
  • Leading engineering teams to deliver analysis and technical outputs across complex projects
  • Ensuring engineering assurance, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders across multiple disciplines

Qualifications of the EC&I Engineering Lead:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline (essential)
  • Chartered Engineer status (preferred)

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain UK - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK.
