JOB – Electrical Controls & Automation Project / Design Engineer
LOCATION – Norfolk
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £40,000 - £45,000 DOE
My client is a growing electrical engineering and control systems business, delivering automation, control systems and LV switchgear solutions to a range of industrial clients.
They are looking for an experienced Electrical Controls & Automation Project / Design Engineer to manage projects from initial enquiry through to delivery, testing and commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in electrical design, industrial automation, controls or project engineering
- Strong knowledge of control systems and LV switchgear
- Experience using EPLAN and AutoCAD to produce electrical schematics and panel layouts
- Good understanding of EN60204 and BS7671
- Experience with control panel and backplate design
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of UKCA/CE requirements; UL 508A advantageous
- Experience with pneumatic systems advantageous
- Galaxy 3 / Cubic software experience advantageous
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK

The role will involve:
- Managing control systems and LV switchgear projects from enquiry through to delivery
- Producing electrical schematics, control panel layouts and technical documentation
- Preparing quotations, estimates and technical proposals
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and production teams
- Supporting FAT, site commissioning, fault finding and project handover
- Developing and maintaining build documentation for volume-manufactured products
- Preparing FDS and associated technical documentation
- Supporting post-installation and call-out activities
