Electrical & Controls Engineer
South Oxfordshire (Hybrid Travel)
£45,000–£55,000 + Site Allowance
Design the electrical and control systems behind cutting-edge technology used by specialist manufacturers worldwide. Laboris Solutions is delighted to partner again with a leading global engineering group on this role.
The Role
Take ownership of electrical and controls engineering across customer and in-house projects, from bespoke system design through to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and on-site commissioning. You'll be based in South Oxfordshire (c. 70%) with c. 30% international travel to support commissioning and site activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design bespoke low voltage electrical and control systems to industry standards
- Lead FAT in-house and at customer sites, producing detailed test reports
- Supervise electrical engineers on-site and support commissioning of LV control systems
- Deliver clear, professional site reports

What You'll Bring
- HNC/HND (or above) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5+ years' experience in electrical equipment design and supply
- Strong knowledge of low voltage electrical and control systems
- CAD proficiency (EPLAN experience desirable)
- Experience commissioning and configuring Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- PLC/HMI programming and fault-finding (Siemens)
- Thyristor and transformer control, LV distribution and switchgear
- Medium voltage systems knowledge
- Experience specifying transformers and cable/busbar supply runs
