The Role
The Electrical Craftsperson is responsible for undertaking operational electrical maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, and installation activities across all Trust sites. The post holder supports the delivery of statutory compliance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes, and emergency response services, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of critical electrical infrastructure.
Working independently and as part of the Estates team, the role contributes to maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors while participating in the Trust’s out-of-hours on-call rota.
Responsibilities
- Undertake planned and reactive electrical maintenance, inspections, testing, fault finding, and repairs on Trust electrical systems and equipment.
- Support compliance with HTMs, statutory regulations, and Trust policies, maintaining critical systems including lighting, emergency lighting, standby power, nurse call, and associated infrastructure.
- Prioritise and respond to urgent maintenance requests affecting patient care.
- Complete maintenance documentation.
- Assist with installations and minor projects.
- Support audits and surveys.
- Supervise and train assistants where required.
- Participate in the out-of-hours emergency on-call service.
