Job Details

Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine and defence related areas. Due to recent projects won they now require an Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy North East office.

The Role

  • Electrical Design
  • Specification Writing
  • Specifying of parts
  • Costing of Projects
  • Technical Support to Customers
  • Inspection and Test / FAT writing
  • Working on Electrical Department Standardisation and Efficiency Initiatives

Undertake the electrical design of work packs or projects with minimal supervision.

Delivery of complex engineering solutions to agreed time scales and budgets.

Ability to estimate, forecast, plan and execute to agreed plans.

Provide technical support and guidance for commissioning and installation activities.

The Person

  • Degree or Diploma qualified
  • Recent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment
  • Experienced In Designing
    • Power distribution systems at both 230V & 440VAC
    • Machine control and instrumentation systems
    • Control Panel design
    • Motor starter or VSD design
  • Experienced in Electrical CAD packages
  • Experienced in working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project based organization
  • Eplan Electric P8 experience
  • Previous experience within the Marine / Offshore environment
  • Working knowledge of DNV GL & Lloyds rules
  • Experience of working with Subsea Vehicles including design of High Voltage systems
  • Knowledge & experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849)
  • Commissioning & Test experience (advantageous)
  • A high level of competence with IT systems and tools
