Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to analyse project specifications to provide reliable estimates that align with our company’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for various projects based on specifications and drawings.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and labour costs to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Review and assess subcontractor quotes and proposals to ensure alignment with project budgets.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of past project costs for reference in future estimations.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid documents and proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
  • Monitor ongoing projects for adherence to estimated costs and provide recommendations for cost control measures.
  • Communicate with suppliers in order to establish the best prices available.
  • Strong communication and team working skills to enable quick decisions to be made within the Design team.

  • 2+ years proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry is preferred.
  • 1+ years proven experience within electrical, fire or security
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using estimation software and tools is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
