Lead Electrical Design Engineer

Cheshire | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Ready to lead major engineering projects instead of simply delivering them? If you're an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking for the opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor a growing team, and work on complex, high-value engineering projects, this could be the move you've been waiting for.

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading M&E engineering contractor delivering complete design, installation, and maintenance solutions across the industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and critical infrastructure sectors.

This is a genuine leadership role where you'll have the autonomy to shape electrical design standards, support the development of engineers around you, and play a key part in the continued growth of an ambitious and expanding business.

Why Apply?

This opportunity offers far more than a traditional design role. You'll work closely with project delivery teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, giving you the chance to see your designs progress from concept through to commissioning while influencing buildability, innovation, and value engineering.

You'll join a collaborative engineering team delivering technically challenging projects across a wide variety of sectors, including:

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
