Electrical Design Engineer – Water Industry

A specialist engineering contractor delivering projects across the water, utilities, and industrial sectors is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing team.

Working on clean water, wastewater, and industrial process projects, you will support the design and estimation of electrical works across established framework agreements.

Duties for Electrical Design Engineer

  • Produce outline and detailed electrical designs and specifications for LV distribution, MCCs, control systems, instrumentation, automation, and associated cabling systems
  • Support the preparation of technical proposals and project cost estimates
  • Ensure design solutions meet project scope, programme, budget, and client requirements
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and technicians
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
  • Attend design reviews and project meetings, monitoring progress and resolving technical issues
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and client specifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience within the water, utilities, manufacturing, or process engineering sectors
  • Experience producing electrical designs for LV systems, MCCs, controls, instrumentation, or automation projects
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Amtech/Trimble ProDesign
  • Eligible to work in the UK
