Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Design Engineer role based in Leicester. The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing electrical systems for commercial and industrial developments, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems. Day-to-day tasks include preparing detailed electrical drawings and specifications, performing load calculations, coordinating designs with other engineering disciplines, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves reviewing project requirements, providing technical input during planning and installation, and supporting project teams to deliver installations within budget and schedule. The engineer will also liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to resolve design issues and contribute to continuous improvement of design practices.

- Strong skills in Electrical Design and Design Engineering, with the ability to produce accurate drawings and technical documentation.
- Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering and electricity principles, including knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Experience with power distribution systems, including load assessment, cable sizing, and coordination of distribution equipment.
- Proficiency with CAD or similar design tools and familiarity with BIM processes is advantageous.
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification in electrical or building services engineering.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and quality.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Prior experience in commercial or industrial electrical installation projects is beneficial.
